Scope and contact

This policy covers the Memory Fragments macOS app, its companion image capture extension and this support website, provided by Shanghai Fangshan Vision Culture Media Co., Ltd. Contact cuijun@fangshanvision.com for privacy questions, data requests or support.

Data on your Mac

The app stores file locations, access bookmarks, collections, tags, color labels, notes, clip ranges, smart-folder rules, image colors and similarity features, and preferences locally. Existing media is referenced in its original location; organizing or removing a library entry does not delete the original. We provide no app account or cloud sync and do not upload your media, search features, collections or notes to our servers.

File access and analysis

The app accesses files within the locations you select or authorize. macOS may request authorization again. Fingerprinting, video contact sheets, image color analysis and similarity analysis run on your device. Manage sources in Settings; revoking access may make entries appear offline. You retain control of the source files.

Purchases and subscriptions

The App Store edition uses Apple StoreKit to obtain and verify transactions and membership periods. Apple handles payment, trial eligibility, renewals and refunds under its policies. We do not receive payment card details or operate our own order or licensing server. Library backups are not purchase credentials; restoring purchases requires Apple verification. The separate personal-use build contains no purchasing module.

Web images and the extension

Only after you enable a page or choose to save an image does the extension read the selected image, page URL and information needed to save it, and pass these to the local app. It requests no persistent access to all sites or Cookie permission and does not collect browsing history. Images are saved to your chosen folder. Web capture supports images only, not web video downloads, and does not bypass login, payment or access restrictions.

Network requests and sharing

Opening inspiration sites, saving web images or viewing online help sends necessary requests to the relevant site, which may receive your IP address, requested URL and browser or download-client information under its own policies. Selecting a system sharing service passes the chosen file or edited copy to that service. We do not automatically send files to other people.

Caches, backups and deletion

Video preview and image thumbnail caches can be cleared separately in Settings. The default total cache limit is 30 GB and can be changed; reaching it triggers cleanup of roughly one third of eligible cached data. Originals and saved web images are not caches. Library backups include organization data and file references, not original media. Back up media separately. Removing a library entry is recoverable. You control deletion of local backups, caches and app data; uninstalling the app may not remove them.

This website and support email

Tencent Cloud hosts these static pages. They have no accounts, forms, cookies, ads or analytics scripts. Hosting and network services may process IP addresses, request times, paths and errors to deliver and secure the service. Email addresses, descriptions and attachments you voluntarily send are used to handle your request and maintain necessary support records. Do not send passwords, verification codes or unnecessary private media.

Your choices and protection

We do not sell personal information or conduct advertising tracking. You can disable the extension, revoke file access, delete local data, or contact us with access, correction or deletion requests. We verify only what is necessary to handle a request. Data stored solely on your device must be managed locally. Support records are kept only as needed to address requests, meet applicable obligations or resolve disputes.

Changes

If our data practices change, we will update this page and its date, provide in-app notice where needed and obtain consent when applicable. Apple, third-party websites and sharing services have their own policies.
